Managing is facilitation
A manager is a leadership giver, someone off the lines. The m / v which aims to draw up and tells you that they should get. I think a large majority shares this thought. But loosely translated, a community manager or the manager of all community members. And there you are undoubtedly a lot less agree.
When I as an account / project manager at MediaMonks ended up in the hectic world desk, I discovered quite quickly that we use an incorrect definition of management. Managing is not leadership. At five past nine on your left clicking on the hoist, forwarding complaints from other departments. Mr K get angry when the stapler of Mr T "borrows" or around the district to send away the coffee. A real manager does not. A real manager ensures that your work can do best.
Take a look for yourself in mind whom you think would be a perfect manager. Shows that really leadership or it provides for an optimum working environment?
Facilitate
The question that real managers constantly ask is not whether the objectives are attainable, but the objectives are attainable and how those objectives can be achieved. What does the staff need ten percent positives? Real managers ensure that their staff can achieve the imposed goals. That Mr K get your own stapler. The lift door open so you can quickly to the barge. So to speak brings him / herself about the coffee and you do not get up to chat with colleagues. But also facilitate your work that you do not disturbed by problems and pitfalls. As a manager any problems for his own accounts, the staff can continue to work quietly to the objectives. And staff satisfaction will be the most ambitious goals at half speed here.
In your community
What does your community need ten percent more to buy? Speak one-on-1 with community members. Use DM's, call them or let them come visit us at the office. Establish a project group consisting of community members. What do they want? What interaction they seek, what they find interesting and how the community would technically be improved?
But tell them that the money goes. Then they are also fair. Then they want not only an orange button. Then the whole page orange. Sure about 3 months. If you can offer something that their very valuable, then attach themselves more to your community. On your mark. They are ambassadors for your brand, because when you are not just about sales. Otherwise you are not contacted, right?
